managed to move a massive amount of people to the middle of public discourse by rewarding individuals with the monetization of their accounts.
Earning more money by playing it safe with your content grows your followers and retention rates.
Ultimately your algorithmic placement decides how much you earn, and those who play it safe get the best placement.
What most don't realize is that Twitter/X is a business and advertisers pay more money to put ads on middle of the road content that offends nobody.
By adjusting your content to be more palatable to the algorithm, you end up self-censoring but are then able to access funds set aside by big corporate advertising firms.
Elon Musk's genius was how he used Twitter/X and rolled out a literal social credit score, tied it to your SSN, and then got you to work for him in creating mindless content.
While you are trying to appease the invisible algorithm that big corporations control, Elon collects your social credit data and uses it for the bidding of groups that were once near universally despised.
