Aladdin (page 16 - 17) helped me understand the elaborate deception involved over many generations to get martyrs to believe they would be eternally rewarded with paradise such as 70 virgins etc.
In the year 1297 an elaborate deception was set up to indoctrinate by means of drugs (before and after the cave so the imitate thought they had a vision of heaven).
A new initiate. Upon being chosen by the group to become a member. They were secretly drugged they were brought into a special cave which they thought was a divine vision of heaven. Physically being taken (while they were still asleep via drugs) waking up to an elaborate cave filled with wine, exotic food (kingly type food), and beautiful seductive women giving the initiate the focus of their attention.
And then being drugged to secretly return from the vision. So the initiate would not know they were deceived. Thus believing that was the reward (once they died) that they would get for serving that group, a martyr in battle for their group.
